The blast from the gun without any ammo in it scares the hell out cats. Max out the velocity, make sure it's empty and get up close. They'll be fine but after one or two of those they won't be coming back.

As for domestic cats that roam around during the day, they are allowed to do that because they, in general, are nowhere near as dangerous as a dog. Cats that don't get out like that tend to get very depressed too. However once they start to inflict actual damage on stuff (not talking about minor stupid thing) then something needs to be done.

I had a neighbors cat coming up on the porch of my house and tormenting my dog through the windows and doors.  So one day when I was outside I happened to see the cat come in the yard, and it was close enough to me that I could grab it, so I picked it up by the back of it's neck, carried it over to the pond, dunked it up to it's neck, and carried it back to my property line and set it down.

This cat apparently hated water.  I haven't seen it since.

Yeah thats the problem with cats. My sister found a stray and spayed it and now it belongs to us (yippy.) and we HAVE to lit it out side once and a while otherwise it annoys the hell out of us trying to get out. It actually bent the metal on the curtains attached to our door trying to get out. So think of the cats owners. Whats worse? A cat that snoops around looking for food outside? Or being cooped up with the cat that tries desperately to get out side so it can go snooping around?

Personally i like Nagash1959's idea about turning the velocity up on the gun and shooting at it without paintballs really close. Never fails. btw shoot alot when youre doing it to make it as dramatic as possible for the cat so it scares the living hell out of the cat.

if your set on shooting the devils then get an airsoft gun, they sting, nothing more, the cats fur will stop the bb from penetrating and will scare them more than anything, paintballs would just hurt too much for them and you can recover from an eye shot from an airsoft gun (done it)

Need to be VERY careful with things of this nature -

Can you say Federal Offense?

Even though I'm sure it was quite innocent not to mention fun, he'd be looking at a lengthy prison sentence, and loosing any right to own firearms.

If I were you, I'd suggest he get rid of that thing asap.
No they just took the silencer and let him be. It's really funny actually. They probably had a file for him after they took it, but it doesn't matter anymore because he has passed away.

just shoot them with a .22

if you are in town use subsonic rounds, they go much slower than regular bullets so they are extremely quiet you can get them at most hunting stores.

if you think it is cruel, just think how many birds you'll save, it's cruel to the birds to not kill the cats

and they're just cats for heaven sake!
