^is the above true?
What is the CVX channel? I thought both markers had the same type of valve system and powered the Cyclone from blowback gas. That was supposed to be the reason that you hardly ever get chops. (cause it only feeds after a shot = feeds from blowback gas). Are you saying that the cyclone on the A-5 doesn't feed it from blowback gas? Please elaborate. Thanks |

the gun is fired, blowback happens, cycling the bolt. at the same time that the gun is cycling, air is run from the small chamber in the bolt to the ram that in turn turns the cyclone feed. the problem I think is the CF should feed/start to push the ball in the gun, is at the moment the bolt is almost past the feed hole. & forget about air turning the cyclone. it should be linked straight to the bolt by a metal link. you would not have to ..um....time it. KISS= less things to go wrong.
in the problem about Popcorning. I really havent looked into why some hoppers popcorn & some dont. so IDK about that one. |

here is a pic of what Im talking about what could be done
sorry so small. I couldnt get the link to copy & paste right. ![]() the red triangle is the new "ratchet". the gray rod thing is the link attached to the bolt. when the bolt moves back via blowback, the link will spin the cyclone. the A5/X7 cyclone uses a spring to spin it. and thats after the air pushes the piston forward. thats alot of time for the bolt to start to moving forward. causing chopping in higher BPS Edited by an94 - 25 December 2006 at 3:29am |

Wow, I never knew this. This is great info and can be used in those 98C vs. A5 debates, lol.

so what do you all think of my idea for the cyclone? do you think it would go as fast or faster than the other hoppers out there?

To be honest it sounds like you know what you are talking about. But I don't completely understand.
Like what is KISS? Plus your pics are too small to see the words you typed on the pics. You make it sound cool though. |

The bolt is a much more forceful object than air. More energy. The action of the bolt returning from the blowback gas, which would cycle the ratchet, would break the paint within the Cyclone itself.

KISS= keep it super simple. or I like keep it simple stupid. cause everything that works really good is simple.
maybe you could put a light spring to dampen the blow of the bolt being forced back. sorry about the small pics. I was lucky to even get THAT pic on (stupid computer!!) in the description I explained what the small words said. but my design feeds the paint in the chamber at the same time the bolt is moving backwards. in the A5/X7 cyclone it feeds as the bolt is starting to move forward. |
