Here's my finished(I think) 98 Custom. On a whim I did add the foregrip yesterday as I've been thinking of one of those for some time. I think it looks real good and it fires killer. I posted a vid on YouTube of it and am in the process of uploading a vid giving a closer look at my marker. Should be up soon, but for now enjoy the pics!

Alright! So I got my 'waffle' mag today and installed it with one of the TA Side tac rails I had on hand. I'll be adding another later on. Man, the new mag's changed the look of my marker pretty good and I likey!

I did have to shave some plastic off with my dremel, but not much. Drilled the appropriate 1/8" holes and voila'!

Here you can see the little Side tac which I think's a nice addition. I couldn't fasten it down with screws though and had to opt for Super Glue. I then cut the heads off of the hex screws and glued them down with it too. I held the entire gun up by the one rail and it's on there! Looking at the old style mag now, it just doesn't look so good anymore does it?

Questions and/or comments are most welcome!

Ever since I watched some of your videos, I'm reading all the posts imagining your voice saying it.  It makes for a much more enjoyable experience.

The waffle mag looks pretty sick.  You were definitely right in saying everyone has the standard AK style you had before, so this really helps set your gun apart even more.

No. It's attached directly to the laser.

Yours really is one of the most unique markers I've ever seen. I like it, a lot. It's got that 'personalized' look to it rather than the cookie cutter milsim dress.

With my recent desire to take on the role as a medium to heavy gunner, aside from just light, I see fit to create a simple modding option for my 98 to make it look more like a machinegun when I take on that role, by simply adding an AK drum mag. I got the idea from looking at some AK pics with this mag on it.

then I went and scored this on ebaY:

Now this is an airsoft mag, but I got lucky and this is nonfunctional which reduces it's price significantly. A functional model is around $100; I scored this for $27 total. Unlike many of the same mags however, again I got lucky and scored this metal one, so in keeping with the MilSim aspect of our sport, this works out very nicely. This is only the "shell" and from what the seller said, there's no internals at all, but whatever, I'll be ripping out whatever's left anyways to reduce it's weight.

I also got in touch with BossMan and asked him about purchasing only his mag wells and it's a "GO"! $20 for the 98 mag well and $8 for the A5 well if anyone's interested. Just e-mail or PM the man.

I'll now also consider getting a bi-pod for when I do throw this beast on my gun.

Yep.

I also finished up the drum mag I mention above too!

Pretty spiffy!

That thing looks heavy as sin, but I am impressed by it's awesomeness.

Sweet marker.

Yeah, it definately has a higher profile than the real thing, but even so, I think it looks pretty good. The idea was to also get a bipod, but after looking at the pic on the left again,

I don't think I really need it. As far as getting a 16" barrel, I don't think so. The APEX is all I need.
