Do you een know what the DmC is? They took the leftover Dm4s, milled them down and then wrapped the composite on them. Smart Parts and Dye have never followed through on lawsuits against each other, every time it has ended up being settled out of court. SP is known for picking on the "little guy." That's why people make the jokes about SP being Nazis and taking over the world. |

Not necesarily. Unregulated CA is just as efficient as unregulated CO2. |

I've been playing since CA meant "California Air" (if you didn't already know, it got that name because the idea for putting a CO2 tank on the gun instead of a 12gram originated and was popularized in California). In any case, in my opinion, HPA is much better than CO2 for the following reasons:
1. CO2 pressure is severly affected by temperature. As the weather gets warmer, the pressure gets considerably higher. Look at the pressure / temperature chart here at palmers pursuit. At 100degress in my area, the tanks would be putting out roughly 1200psi, with only half of a fill. A complete fill hits 1400psi. Therefore, you gotta lower your velocity to compensate. Some guns simply won't be able to get under the limit with the stock internals. 2. In cooler weather, the expansion rate for CO2 (how much liquid will convert to a gas in a given span of time) starts to drop. In other words, the cooler it is, the quicker you will suffer from shootdown, and eventual freezeup. I've seen this happen in 20 rapid fire shots in the winter. 3. You must by all means take steps to reduce the amount of liquid CO2 from getting to the gun. Liquid CO2 expands in the valve/barrel even more so than gas, which causes a major spike in velocity of more than 50fps. This doesn't count those guns that are no longer in production that were designed to use liquid. Contrary to popular misconception, a Palmer Stabilizr doesn't act like an expansion chamber any more than an equal length of gas line; it's just built well-enough that you don't have to worry about blowing any seals or such, should liquid enter the reg. A regulator on a HPA tank isn't just a necessity, it's a benefit as you get a very good pressure consistancy. Which, I place second to barrel-paint match in importance to accuracy. You can even take it a step further and add another regulator for more than twice the consistancy. You gotta shell out for two regs to get a benefit almost comparable to compressed air. Any questions? Edited for readability. Edited by UV Halo - 02 August 2006 at 6:57pm |
