Why would he need a double trigger when he can hit 20 bps with a single trigger?

And what would be the point of getting a new drop?

Right on.    Not sure about 18,  but you easily hit 14.

when i exported the sound clip and hosted it it sound like crap...but while
i was listening to in on my editing program it was 18bps and sounded
great...i got the bps by extracting the video from the audio and just
listening to a second long sound clip of his gun shooting...then i counted
every time the audio spiked when his gun shot...the highest i counted was
18bps, the lowest 14bps....

Double triggers with the RT aren't for shooting any faster. You aren't going to walk it like an electric. Get that out of your head now. Some people like the look or feel of the double trigger. I like the extra control it gives me. I can vary my rate of fire by pulling on different spots on the trigger.

The double trigger has a lighter trigger spring with it. It reduces fatigue and
trigger pull.

Most double triggers make you switch out your normal slide spring. This spring (behind the trigger; trips the sear with the slider) has NOTHING to do with pull weight. Its the top tip of the slider that trips it. All that spring inside does is absorb the sear pushing on it when you hold down the trigger. This is why you dont need the return spring to reset the trigger. If it were the return spring that were lighter, only the initial pull would be slightly lighter, but still be a heavy pull because of the strong sear spring. Nothing can reduce weight and length except a trigger stop, and modified or new sear spring.

Double triggers on non electronic Tippmanns do nothing but give you the feel.
