Less than a week before players start arriving at D-Day Park
to start setting up camp. With folks flying in from around the
globe it's a bit of a mad house, but nothing we don't come
prepared to handle. If you'd like to join us for a chance to
take Sword, Omaha and Utah beaches, or secure Pegasus
Bridge, Caen and Colleville, you've still got time.

Remember, those of you who can't make it will also be able
to view some of the action, as it happens, simply by logging
into Big Joe Hero's blog. Here's that web address once again
for those of you who didn't catch it before -

http://kellysheroeslittleshermans.blogspot.com/

Coverage will include live player interviews as well as scenes
broadcast from the event itself.

Enjoy!

When players come to D-Day Park they'll be required to attend
the D-Day Park safety briefing, which covers the game rules they'll
be expected to oberserve.

Once they've finished viewing that film, they'll be directed to the
ALLIED ARMY's HQ. Upon arrival there they'll be asked to view this
film before they receive their blue 'hopper cover.'

Blue DragonX, over on McCarter Brown's forum did some
digging around yesterday and came up with these two
flashbacks to past Oklahoma D-Days. Take a look and
check what they were like back then and beat on over
and register for what's sure to be the biggest, baddest
paintball event of this year.

"Hey guys! I was digging around a little and found these,
if you want to know more about D-Day these are great
reads!"

June is almost here! Have you signed up yet? The Commonwealth
is looking for troops to take Sword Beach, Caen and Pegasus Bridge.
These will be some of the most intense battles on the morning of the
big game. Want to play in a paintball tank? The 13th/18th Royal
Hussars need troops to man our three tanks and two planes.

Come and join our international team of scenario players from the
United States, Canada, England, Scotland, Wales, France, Belgium,
Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand. We’ll also be hosting
individual players from Germany, Poland and Malaysia. What better
way to celebrate the CEF 10th Anniversary, than with international
friends?

We offer group meals, shelter in steel shipping containers with air
conditioning and bunks, our very own pub and a chance to become
a part of the largest international paintball scenario team in the
world. We also offer team training with the other CEF and Allied units
and a military style full auto shoot midweek. The full auto shoot is
open to all attendees of OK D-Day. If you go to a large event in
North America, Europe or Australia, chances are that you will find
your CEF brothers and sisters there, as well. So, sign up today!

From the PX, preorder for clothing items for delivery to OK D-Day
will end on April 30, so get your orders in for CEF uniform items,
Player Packs, 10th anniversary t-shirts, D-Day t-shirts, Member
at Large t-shirts, Supporter t-shirts, polos, hoodies, fleeces, ball
caps, travel mugs, full auto shoot registration and Conex rental
.
Please contact Sir Raymond at HarlyHunk@hotmail.com for special
CEF incentives if:

1)    This is your first time playing OK D-Day in the CEF; or

2)    you can play a marching band instrument; or

3)    you have bonafide and current EMS training.
Please visit our web site and forum at www.ddaycommonwealth.com
for more information.

Cheers!

Sir Ray, Commonwealth Commander

The Pathfinders do whatever is needed of us at D-Day.
We are Special Forces in a nut shell. We are all over the
field from game on until game over. We take our jobs
serious and never have we not accomplished a mission.
When the SAC says take Omaha beach, we take Omaha
beach, when he says take a bridge, the bridge is taken,
when he says help take Utah beach, we take Utah beach.
If he says take any objective on the field, we take it.
We are fast moving, hard charging, get the job done guys.
We are the best of the best at D-day.

We also have the most fun during the week than most
folks. we camp together in 6 of the RV slots and are
known for our great times during the week.

If there was an official abstract for the "Life of a 101st
Pathfinder", this would be it. We work hard and play
hard.

Finally wrapped up the March E-Zine Edition. Loads of clickable
links to some rather unique YouTube videos, plus a couple to much
longer D-Day related films.

As always, I can use more of your input, articles and of course
more photos and video clips. Got something you'd like to share,
send it along, or give me a call so we can discuss it.

Hopefully after the April edition is wrapped up I'll begin laying out
the June 'print' edition.' If you're a vendor and you'd like to get a
jump start on placing your ad, please get in touch as soon as it's
convenient.

Just learned that the Bunker now offers
a special registration deal for groups of
players who are willing to sign up at the
same time.

Call the Bunker and register 4 players and
get 1 more member in for FREE. The key
to taking advantage is to CALL the Bunker
rather than by registering online.

Ok, we've been posting clips, stories and the like
now since right after everyone got back this past
June. Now with just under 90 days to go before
the 15th Anniversary edition of D-Day kicks off
it's time to get registered and into fighting shape.

Are you in with us, or are you going to sit by the
sidelines? The Allied Army is gearing up for a war,
a paintball war of epic proportions and it's calling
on you for your help.

Become a player in this history making event and
claim your rightful share of the winners bragging
rights.

Got questions about which unit suits you best, how
much it's all going to cost, or where to camp, drop
me a line or give my office a call.

Sincerely,
Brigadier General Andy Van Der Plaats

For those who've never been or played at D-Day here's some
useful information from one of members in the 82nd Ab 505TH
Regiment.

If you want to know how much gas is going to cost you, use this
website. Enter in your vehicle info and it will give you a pretty
accurate estimate on how much gas will cost you. Figure out what
it costs to fill your car from empty to full. For instance, to fill my car,
which has a 17.5 gallon tank, it's right around $50-60 depending
on gas prices. (15 gallons or so useable, account for fumes) Basically
you want to over estimate a little bit, because you will be making
trips from the campsite to the adjacent towns to pick up supplies,
food, water, etc. We made several trips over the course of the week.
It isn't necessary, but I didn't mind going into town for comfort
items.

http://gasbuddy.com/Trip_Calculator.aspx

For me, I used about two cases the whole week. I played in almost
every game last year However, I'm also very conservative. Also our
group didn't really bunker in, we moved a lot. So I have a preference
of having a light loadout. Basically I used a case for all the mini
scenario games, and I used a case for the big D-Day game.

Your playing style, and your objectives will determine how much
paint you'll be slinging all week.

Food for us wasn't too bad, the first year we lived on ramen & eggs.
2nd year we brought some meat, visited more with our unit, and we
ate a little better. But still, eggs and ramen were a staple food. Along
with granola bars, and jerky. I did however indulge and eat at the
cafe & Phil's grill. (Phil's grill is AMAZING btw, and prices aren't all
that bad)

Anyways, gas split 3 ways last year in my car came out to like $80
or something a person, water is really cheap, maybe $10-15 for water
(a person) for the whole week by buying gallon jugs. We're doing it
better this year, I got 3 7-gallon aquatainers for water supply. Should
save us money. I spent close to $200 in toys, all together with
purchasing paint, my d-day ticket, it was about $500-600.

Thanks for this information goes to "Spartan sui"
