I have info. My 98 works better on HPA than it did on CO2. This may not prove you wrong, but you are also not completely correct. With that said, I must also say that my gun worked satisfactorily with CO2. Ultimately, I don't think it matters much whether CO2 or HPA is used. Edited by 5ptcontingency |

Of course HPA is recommended. That doesn't mean you have to buy it. Put it this way. If you were going to be given an HPA tank or a CO2 tank for free, go with the HPA. Tippmanns don't 'demand' HPA like an Autococker would but it does help a little. I don't know if this little performance upgrade is worth 200 bucks though.

Right, any gun will work better on HPA. Tippmanns are known for tolerating co2 very well. Their performance would be much better with HPA however. It's your call. Are there HPA fill stations around you? To what psi do they fill? Would you be better off spending $100+ for an HPA tank or buying paint and admission for a month?

Fine. I'll Agree with 1 Thing. a Tippmann with a Electro-pneumatic kit in it will work better on HPA then C02. Yet. I will Still stand where I am on a Mech Tippmann will work Better one c02 then HPA...

You might want to look into the Palmer Stabilizer. That would help your gun out a lot. It will almost make CO2 equivalent to nitrogen in terms of consistency. You would have to take the x-chamber off though. Here's a Christmas list I would want if I were you... |

If you play a lot in cold weather then HPA is a good choice. I went with HPA because I play in cold weather quite a bit and I also get free HPA fills. So it was a no brainer for me to get HPA. My 98 custom worked very well on CO2, but in cold weather the R/T got a little finicky. With HPA it performs flawlessly. I can shoot full auto until the tank goes empty if I want. I couldn't do that with CO2.
I agree with some of the above posts. A Palmer stab will make CO2 more consistent and also works well with HPA. I still have the expansion chamber on my 98 even though it doesn't do diddly for HPA it does no harm either. CO2 is a wet, dirty gas, and HPA is dry and clean. So theoretically it is "better" for your gun to shoot HPA. That being said...a Tippmann will shoot CO2 with no problems for as long as you want it to. |

i just ordered my hpa tank(crossfire 92ci 4500psi) from paintballgear and when i went to play the first game after it arrived, all i could say was WOW! it is SOOOOOO much more consistent than co2. doesnt get cold, absolutly NO SNOW whatsoever. you get way more shots on my tank than a 20oz co2 and its cheaper to fill. now its starting to be getting fall temperatures up here and this is when my hpa will shine! cant wait to play in teh cold against teh co2 players that will only get like 500 shots froma 20oz

dude stay co2.. if you change your gonna have to ditch expansion chammber/ remote or they'll blow up i think ( i kno remote will, i not sure bout expansion chamber)...

You wont even need an expansion chamber with HPA.. and most remotes can run Co2 and HPA. |
