I'd be willing to bet bath salts were attributed to incidents like this because the drug itself had been proven to cause serious issues in the past.
Oddly enough we had a crazy come into the hospital a few weeks back acting bizarre and telling us he had done bath salts but tested positive for weed and nothing else. Weird stuff. |

I don't understand why the news can't report the guys was just crazy. And how they ran with the story when very little details were in.
After working pt's with schizophrenia and other SMI pt's. I can see this happening. |

Bath salts were a logical assumption based on the reporting officers experience I'm sure. Its not like he was new. Also probably attributable to the fact that humans feel a need to try and find a reason or catalyst for such bizarre behaviour. I think it unhinges a lot of people to think that some people are bat crap crazy enough to actually do something like this without some sort of mind altering drug.

A friend of mine ended up knowing Rudy Eugene from high school. She said he was a really friendly guy.
