No worries. Been there, done that.  Easy to lose track of a long thread for a few posts.

If you were really in the army, you would know there is no sniping in paintball.

Please for the love of god don't get a flatline.

With that definition, I could hide myself in a pile of leaves, shoot someone with a squirt gun, and then rightfully call myself a sniper

If you took the time to read, you'd see where I draw on my military experience to show examples of analogous situations between paintball and some kinds of combat in which snipers are used. Do you doubt that I'm in the army?

First off, here's a pic of me with my pistol and my tippmann. This has been posted a few times before. Notice that my face is pretty clear. I'll post a few pics form training so you can match it. If you still doubt me after that, so be it.

This just before I left for training about 15 months ago

A picture of me halfway through my infantry training- God knows what I was happy about. Probably the quantity of linked ammo I got my ahnds on for this pose.

M203 training, two thrids of the way through my course....

And finally, the big brigade exercise at the end of my training.

If you still doubt me, that's your problem. I challenge you show that these pics are fake, though.

Several of us have known that your in the Canadian Armed Forces well before now.

But what you haven't done, is provide specific sniper tactics from your vast experience that can be effectively applied to paintball. I know trained snipers that specificly state that the skills and tactics that make a sniper can not be applied. Please scroll back to where I have spelled this out and demostrate how to do this.

Thats a purdy word.

I think this thread needs to be locked. Both sides have stated thier argument, and the reader can decide which side they want to be on.

Plus this has gone way off the original topic.

Crewchief, for the record the only person I was attempting to be curt with was nutteralex. If I managed to piss anyone else off, you have my apologies.

I'll refer you back to my previous post in this thread about how 'sniping' as an art has evolved to accommodate urban combat. That outlines my thoughts and opinions on the matter, and I feel that I did effectively apply them to the game. That being said, I suspect neither of us are likely to sway the other on this debate, so I'll defer to monk's suggestion. We can keep beating our heads against the wall forever on this one, but it strikes me as pointless. Again, apologies for getting a bit annoyed a few posts ago.

All of this great discussion from a thread that started as discussion on a tighter mask, wow.  Maybe a new thread.

finnally, a post that is relative to the thread that isn't an arguement!

The idea might work, but it would not look all that great and it might get uncomfortable.  plus it would hurt to get shot there.  it really depends on the size of the indention i guess.  it would have to be perfectly balanced to work correctly.
