ok so you first take and make the 98c a top cocking marker by drilling a rectangle into the top of the marker and then turning the rear bolt so it sticks out of the top. you then cut a plastic flatline shroud to the length of the 98c and then dremel a little to get the edges of it smooth and slideable. you then take the shroud and attach it to the top cocking bolt there fore giving you a top cocking 98c with the flatling shroud. you'd pull the shroud back to cock it and when it fired it would go forward then back again, resembling a pistol kinda.

co2 wouldnt leak, but just turning the bolt sideways would make your gun full auto like its out of gas. theres a little notch on the bottom of the bolt that catches the sear. when its turned on its side, it can not catch, therefore making a continuous cycle.

Easy enough to do- Just dremel another hole for the cocking handle perpendicular to the existing one, and make the slide notch in the top of the marker and the flatline shroud. It wouldn't be pretty, but it would work- and coupled with a custom flatline shroud (ideally metal), making a cocking handle like off an M16 would be doable for real... Worth consideration. At some point in the future I'll pick up another 98 just to frig with it. My dad's getting a dremel for his birthday. ;) |

Or why don't I post what I have already created?
Squids. And you cannot mill out the back bolt with just a Dremel. It's hardened cast iron. You'll end up burning out the motor or destroying more bits than it's worth. You need a good drill with sharp bits to drill holes in it. You can use a Dremel to light work on the bolt though. Edited by SnakeEyes |

Hey, good stuff- thanks! Anyone know if this has ever been adapted for a rear cocking handle? Imagine that with a car stock... Nice milsim basis there. |

see i think making the 98c a top-cocking marker would be the hardest part of the hole thing and if i messed up there i would definitly cry

I would be a bit more worried about the sound of shooting the gun giving my position away than a small piece of plastic bouncing back and forth. |

Well, jus to let everyone know, I did drop an email to the guys at Proteam and they said a "new" rear cocking bolt can be done but, its gonna take some serious modding on the body and some serious moolah to have it all done...professionally.
