Nice i for some reason always loved Crown Vics.
Oh and the F250 is also straight piped (NO MUFFLER). A turbo charged 444ci (7.3) V8 Diesel sounds NICE when not muffled. most people thing i got a Big block gasser under the hood with a HUGE turbo .
But at idel the thing sounds like a stock diesel. At its loudest
its still quieter than a Gasser with flowmasters. It get 17mpg
and the thing weighs 6300lbs or in other words three honda
civics. Its not the fastest vehical on earth but is no
sloutch either. Id guess a 1/4mile at 18sec. I have loaded
the bed with 2000lbs (1 TON) and the thing did not even notice climed a
grade 6 hill in overdrive accelerating .
This thing will pull a house off its foundation if you give it enoug
traction its peak Tq is at 1400rpm and it idels at 600rpm Redlines at
3500rpm. Torque curve is FLAT and the hp curve just keeps riseing
god i love this truck. |

97 Jimmy, it looks nice, but it is the biggest lemon ever, I paid $6200 for it, and have put $2400 into it for repairs. Its most likely getting sold come spring, and after that I'm planning on building a trail jeep. |

well, here's the 1999 Navigator that my dad bought. im hoping he will give it to me when i need my car. that picture is when we were replacing the engine. the previous owner was stupid enough to only change the oil twice in 6 years. right now it is all waxed and looking very good. i might post a more up to date picture soon.

Nice Chevy built like a rock crumbling away LOL just a joke i wish i
had a smaller truck to go back and forth to work with too my truck gets
cumbersome in down town city driveing
. Nice jeep whats under the hood 4.0l or the 4.2l? I thinking of saveing up some $$$ to buy myself a small car for a daily driver cause i have alot i want to do to my truck but cant disable it untill i get something to drive to work with. I was considering a Hyundia Accent or a OLDER VW Diesel Jetta. Or i know its not small but a X Cop car Ford Crown Vic. I also was gona buy a used ford ranger agian but i want a 4 seater. Never been a fan of Senomas/s10. They sit WAY too low for my
likeing and the 4.3 is underpowered and way too mutch of a gas
guzzler. My 7.3 get similar milage as a 4.3 ?? Diesel or
not mins moveing a 6300lbs truck the 4.3 only has too move a vehical
half that.
None the less it looks kleen and they are reliable transportation i just prefer the rangers and 4.0L for power or the 3.0l for fuel milage. Oh and i HIGHLY dout you can do anything back there as the bed is only 5.5ft long and 2.5-3feet deep an only 4.5-5 feet wide While in my old van that had loads of room with a full double bed in the back. 4.3L underpowered for that size truck? I highly doubt it. This truck
weighs around 2,500lbs(probably less, that is the weight of the 97
extended cab), and with my fuel injection performance kit(K&N) this
puts out nearly 245 hp. It is a low sitter, but I don't plan to
off-road with it. This also has the towing package. I don't know what
gas mileage your 7.3 gets, but I can get around 28-30 mpg(highway) with
this.
I would have liked a Ranger, but I just couldn't find any.
And what are you saying? A 4.0L has more power than a 4.3L? The bed is easily big enough for queen size air matress with a couple pillows and sleeping bags. I just have different purposes, I don't need to haul anything in the back on most occasions, and when I do, I just take that stuff out. I didn't know I posted my truck to get your judgement of the performance based against what you have, nor that this was any kind of competition. But I think I know my truck a little better than you do. |
