Thank you to all that put serious thoughts into this. I am a serious tournament player with a serious poll. As of right now I shoot a Dye Matrix with about every upgrade to come to mind or almost or I will have shortly. I love this marker but I will need a backup soon for the tournament season coming up very fast but not fast enough. To those of you that say "Pimped out" or "Tricked out" Tippmann you should punch yourself in the face, I am not a newby looking for a cyclone feed or a marker that needs to have 200$ + put into it just to make it shoot 12 or so bps. Please if you have an "other" to suggest please reply with what it is. Whichever wins this I will most likely get. keep in mind I will probably not be upgrading much on this new marker or spending more than 1000$ on it for the initial price. Thank you all much. Happy Holidays!

Youl probly flame me for this judging by your SPEED oriented attituid but have you considered an Automag?
A ULE Coustom can shoot pretty quick and is FULLY mechanical. There not very picky markers and offer Duribility Reliability and Ease of use/maintain. There VERY small and light and are one of if not the fastest Mechanical markers available. They dont need really any upgrades other than a barrel (Cocker threads), And a Good HPA tank and a nice mid range drop if you like em. I actually bougth a Old MINIMAG as my Speedball PRIMARY gun but im not a turny player im more a old time Woodsballer trying out the spedballl scene. I do have a FIRM belife that more than 15bps is unessasary and have done the math to prove it. Look at it this way if your shooting say 10bps a 300ft/sec. There would be a 30' gap between each ball. Now at 300ft/sec a 30' gap would = one milisecond. GOOD LUCK DODGEING THAT FAST ![]() . Were not even gona get into 15+ bps. |

Too bad paint loses velocity quickly, which is why paint doesn't fly 300 ft and takes over a second to get where it's going.
I'm gonna agree with some of the other people, look into a Borg. The only upgrad nesscary is a clamping feecneck. Other than that, they are pretty fast, very efficent, and they're light. And it won't let you down. |

Right thats why i did the test at 10bps and not 15bps to adjust for th velocity loss.
Also were not talking a 300ft were talking a max of 100ft So lets do some new calculations how that. Say were a back man shooting to the Opisit end of the feild for a WORST case senerio. Were shooting our "Slow" 10 bps. Our velocity is 300fps. Now adjusting for velocity loss lets say it take a ball to travel 100 ft in one sec instead of the 300fps we started at ok. So now our velocity AT it max range is down to 100fps still shoothing 10bps leaving a gap of the same 30ft beween balls we started with (assuming all paint will loose velocity at the same speed). Means that theres now a 3 MILISECOND gap between balls. Now light and sound takes micro seconds to reach you and you take miliseconds to react so this eqauls that there really is no need for more that 15bps. |
