He's so going to get lit up when he whips out those pistols. They are designed as close quarters(10-40 ft.) backup defence. Delta 68 aren't bad for cheap. Zeus G2 would be my #1 pick.

I wouldn't know much about pistols becuase they are useless IMO, but I heard zeus made good ones.
Also I seriously reccomend your friend trys playing with 2 pistols before he buys them because I can guarantee that is not going to work. |

I went out with just a single PT Extreme on three different occasions. The first time was in very thick cover and I eliminated several people with single shots and lasted the entire game. (This pistol was great in the stuff we were playing in; you couldn't see more than 20' in any direction and I got one of the eliminations specifically because my opponents barrel hooked on a vine when he saw me first.) The second time I lasted the entire game and got one elimination in a face-to-face firefight. (Popping out and trying to make my ammo last by carefully aiming my shots from 60' away while he painted my cover with the contents of his entire hopper was not fun. It was challenging, but not fun.) The third time I was doing okay until a little kid caught me while I was reloading. He chased me around a large patch of brush while I continued to try to reload and finally shot me on about the sixth lap. (I imagine it looked pretty amusing to the other players; I'm an adult and this kid was maybe 10 or 11 tops.) |

I was kind of annoyed about it at the time, but it was the kids first game and I was his first elimination. Anyway, now I chuckle about it whenever I think about it. To answer part of the question I forgot to cover in my first post. Lord Caliber asked about harness's for the pistols. At one time I had two PTs because I picked one up in trade. Since I always tinker with stuff I have a very large scrap/excess part pile of paintball equipment. I had three separate holsters (One paintball, two for firearms). I played with several configurations but my favorite was having a tactical holster on my right thigh and a cross-draw holster low on my left side. Since I'm right-handed I could easily get to either PT with my dominant hand. Also in a pinch I could turn my wrist and get to the one in the shoulder holster left handed. Not that I would ever want to shoot lefthanded; if it wasn't for gravity my left-handed shots would miss the ground. I never used this set up during a game, I traded off one the PTs and one of the holsters for something else paintball related. |

I'm the same way with my left hand Mack. No matter how much I practice with it, it has the IQ of broccoli. Using two pistols would just distract my concentration from whatever skill my right hand possesses.

Ok, I played a guy with two pistols once. He whooped the crap
out of us. He was ambidexterous, though, and practiced with them almost every day. He had a pair of Zeus pistols. I use my Delta 68 all the time during play, but it's usually after I have set my A-5 or Carbine on the ground. Several times I have braced my main marker against my right shoulder, held the pistol in the other hand, and marched straight towards someone with both markers ripping. Only been hit once doing that. Its very intimidating. If he wants to get a pair, I would say Delta 68 or Zeus. |

I wasn't saying I was against pistols, I have a Zeus G2. I was just pointing out that most of the time you are going to get your butt handed to you if you use it as your primary weapon. Pistols don't have the range, accuracy or ROF of say a DM4 or Timmy.

When it comes to pistols, if you friend wants to only play with 2 pistols, he will be at a serious disadvantage.
There are a few friends of mine who bought zeus pistols, but they were only for backup if they were reloading, or if they ran out of air or paint in their primary marker. 98% of the time, they found out that at the end of the day, they had not even taken them out of the holster even once, and in several cases, they got their holsters on their legs tore up when they were baseball sliding into bunkers, the other one's who had the chest holsters found them annoying when they were trying to crawl or lay down in grass, or behind a bunker. Most of them no longer bring them out to play, because they felt they just got in the way. The simple fact is that it takes alot longer to reload a paintball pistol for both paint or the 12 gram co2 than it takes to reaload a normal marker for paint, and if you are using the pistol as your primary marker you will spend most of your time loading paint and swapping out 12 gram cartridges, not shooting. |

I aint new, personally I think pistols are a waist of money. ,but if your friend has his mind set on these I would go for a 32 degrees pt extreme. You can get these and the holsters and ammo tubes on www.888paintball.com for a good price.

The new Ariakon ACP is pretty nice too. I picked one up and like it quite a bit. Much lighter than my Zeus G1 and gets about 24 shots to a 12 gram while my Zeus got about 15-18. As for going twin pistol it can be done well and not everyone gets lit up. A gentleman here in So Cal is known for running twin pistol and gets about 5-6 elminations per game. He moves a lot, can tuck in SUPER tight, and has this little move where he exposes almost NOTHING when he fires. I mean you see the side of his mask and a hand holding the pistol...that's it. He's good...but it took time to do that. If your friend has the patience to learn then go for it but if he doesn't then yes, he is better off going with a more traditional marker. |
