Minie ball
They should make speacial paintballs shaped like that and just make a soft top on them so they wouldn't hurt as bad on impact. Tho you would need a speacial hopper or a clip to thse into a gun. But they would be worth it because of range and accuracy. |

They do. It's called fin stabilized paintbullets that are about 800 dollars per case and only available to police forces.

Words cannot describe how many times this has been proposed. IT WILL NOT EVER WORK! Every time someone posts this insane idea I swear I get a little bit dumber.

It will never work because Rifling only spins the outer shell of the paintball, and not the inner paint fill. Therefore the mass of the projectile is not spinning so it would not be anymore accurate than a round fired thorugh a unrifled barrel.

they use what is called simunitions. they actually have a sabot round that is filled with paint. The rifleing does work all you have to do is do about a half turn over every 2 inches of barrel. but it can't be cut into the barrel or it will cut your paintball. the way that i did it was made my own barrel. i machined it out and then polished it in a spiral. the roughness of the unpolished area grabs the paintball and makes it spin. there is enough spiraling motion to get the inside of the ball to spin as well. if you want to see how it works take a 20 oz pop bottle fill it with water and put it on a treadmill. it DOES work.
