First one is highly unfeasible. It would require not only a new Q-loader, but a new calibre of paint that no company would make. Second is very possible. lol bob owns Edited by hybrid-sniper - 25 August 2006 at 10:17pm |

Ya know, there is a civil war game. It's pretty cool, you have to take off your hoppers and can only hand feed 1 ball at a time. You can only carry paint in like zip-lock baggies and such. It's pretty cool.

Sneaky, I demand you change your sig. On first glance, I could swear I typed that. It confuses me and my teeny attention spand... And for the Civil War game, you could play just like you want, from geurilla tactics to forming ranks. It's up to your imagination. |

While I can't think of an advantage that larger calibre paint would have, I can think of one major disadvantage: heavier projectiles. I used the calculator at this location for determining the volume of various sized paintballs. I found the information on kinetic energy here. The information about paintball velocities and injuries came from an interview with Bud Orr that was published in The Complete Guide to Paintball.

like I said just fun. the bigger ball would get more range though. it would be really good for just target practice. right??? hey maybe someone could come up with a paintball gun for TARGETS only. then you could go with just about any cal. like the new .43 cal. I think I remember seeing some 50 cal Paintballs for blowguns a few years back at the fleamarket |

Momentum I guess. If I'm not mistaken, a larger mass traveling at 280 fps will go further than the smaller mass. Of course, the drag will be a factor, but I don't know by how much. This is all in theory. |

But the large mass, traveling at the same speed as the smaller mass, would possess more kinetic energy which would create a safety hazard for other players. Edited by Mack - 17 August 2006 at 1:00am |

Unfortunately that is negated by Mack's point. But I see what you are saying, and it is true. |
