At the moment? Probably a toss up between the Cyborg 06, Legend, and Quest.
Up and coming it seems that Aedes and Invert-Mini are already in favor. If you are talking pumps, PPS makes great pumps, but alot will also praise the Phantom. |

I own a Ion and I like it alot. Around $200 - $250. Ramping, break-beam vision, different firing modes and various other goodies.

Good question.
I would say for a low price and a decent gun, ICD Promaster. |

^^ There is also a "Which Gun is Best" Forum. But I guess I can give my opinion here if the criteria is further described. |

$200-$250 range...ion and promaster...personaly i think the ion is better then the promaster because the promaster dosent have a ASA, macrolineing nor a good reg stock...so sure its a 250 gun...but with a $60-90$ reg, $25 asa and $5-$10 macro its more like a 350 gun...the ion has a DECENT reg stock, asa, and lining...the only thing the promaster has over it is the board and trigger are really good...they weight about the same, but the ion has a lower profile and is slightly more gas efficent...also the ion is more customizable then the promaster...there are no aftermarket grip frames or bodies for the promaster like their are for the ion...which sets the ion a step up further again...really it comes down to how much are you willing to spend at one time to get the marker even working...and what kind of style marker fits your personal style...they both have break beam eyes...so thats not a problem...and really i think the stock ion board is good enough, mainly since alot of turneys are starting, from what i hear, to limit people to 15 BPS...having an unlimited ROF like the promaster does dosent really help you there unless you just want to show off...the ions stock board is capped at 17...which shouldnt really pose a functional problem...just set it to 15 bps semi auto and play...anything beyond 10 bps in my mind dosent really help you any more...you are already throwing a good stream of paint toward the target...now your just wasting shots...in terms of accuracy...their about the same...i would say from what i have seen, both guns, when using the same paint and same barrel (freak with same inserts) are a close match...but the ions SFT seems to give it just a slight advantage over the promaster...i forgot to mention that the pormaster does have a better stock bolt then the ion...but it would only cost you around $40-$50 to get a L6 or a smart parts firebolt...

If your talking entry level then I'm with Raven on the Ion. Sure the promaster is great. At one time I was going to get one, but then I compared the cost effectiveness of the Promaster to the Ion and the Ion really is the better choice. If you do decide to get an Ion you'll need a few things to get the best out of it. Heres a list.
Now if your like me, and you dont want your Ion to look the same as everyone elses, get a unique body from ANS or the like. Now that list just includes the gun, you'll also want to get a good HPA tank and a Hopper(Empire Reloader or Halo B) |

Every marker pretty much has SFT. Smart Parts just patented it and sued everyone for it. Its an O-ring in the front of that thing (ugh, the name escapes right now). |

ah gotcha...
...thats kinda funny...are you talking about the oring on the front of the bolt? =/ my spyder dosent have one ...but my raptor does...as far as i know from reading SFT (seal forward tech.) is just simply that it seals the bolt in the barrel during the shot right?...the only reason i like smartparts really is because of the ion...=/...which i just got into recently...and SFT is really the only thing about them i dont dwell into...lol
