Hi right now i have the 14" smart parts linear barrel. I am thinking about getting a new one but I am wondering which to get. I know peole say that the Flatline is picky with paint. Is the Apex like that too? If i am going to get an apex i will get the AK47 Apex because it will look freakin cool.

Jordan, If you will just do a little search using APEX you will find about a hundred posts on the Apex barrel...its pros and cons and direct comparison to the Flatline, time and time again. All those posts will teach you a heck of a lot about barrels in general and exactly how both the Flatline and the Apex accomplish their function...and why one works better than the other. Search!!! The button below works...click it!!! Edited by Bruce A. Frank - 31 May 2007 at 10:11pm |

I've used both. I just don't like the way the Apex drops the ball down the way it does in 'flatline' mode. Can be problematic from the different positions I shoot from (on belly, back, side) in the woods. I'll have to fiddle with marker's operating pressure some more as well as some adjustments to the barrel itself. I heard from a lot of people that it "out-flatlines the Flatline", so I had to try it for myself. First impressions for me aren't that good...
