My Morning > Your Morning

The girlfriend and room-mate are both out of town visiting their college friend and her husband. I have the house to myself. I have a fridge full of beer, and this is what I did this morning when I rolled out of bed at 9:30AM






I paddled around Dyke Marsh on the Potomac for about 2 hours this morning. The third picture down, you can make out a rather fuzzy Great Blue Herron. I saw about 6 of them on the marsh today. I also saw Baltimore Orioles and Red-Winged blackbirds as well as a ton of other birds I couldn't identify. There were a few hawks and Eagles about as well. I also saw a few water snakes and some big freaking turtles as well.

Sounds like fun. I can't wait to get my canoe out (no kayak of my own yet) and take it around Lake Wilhelm or down the Allegheny or Clarion.

Very few things beat a day out on a river/lake/marsh/etc.

I think I've got a few river/camping outages lined up for the summer.

Ugh what I would have done to get the house alone last night.  Living with parentals ftl.  You'd imagine how hard certain things are in a car.

I've found that if the weather is pleasant enough, you can pull the trunk-mat out of the back and find a nice secluded spot. Mind you, I did that in late November in upstate NY while it was misting out, but it worked!

I don't know, my morning was pretty exciting.

Planet earth + Big screen TV while frying is hard to beat.

Yeah, you beat me. I hung around the fire house drinking beer.......and that's it. 

I got a bj and watched Trailer Park Boys, I think I give your morning a run for its money.
