so... i'm an idiot.  I got all excited when I found a knife sharpener in our kitchen and grabbed my favorite knife to sharpen.  well... in my excitement, I pulled the blade through the wrong way... towards myself and towards the side with no guard.

Yeah, I'm an eagle scout... and yes, my grandpa has taken all knife privileges away from me.

Bwahahahahaha.

A knife isn't yours until you've bled on it.

Glad you didn't do any serious damage to your hand.

Now just think up a better story as to how you got the scar. I'm thinking Grizzly bear.

First, where is the requisite picture of PCF with an absurd-yet-sexy look on his face that always accompany threads of yours?

Word on both accounts. I'm thinking you were attacked by a hawk/bald eagle.  OR, since you do all that pee-doctor work, you can just forget to mention the specifics of your job, say you are at the hospital, and in the heat of the moment your blade got away from you and that cut resulted. As long as it's 51% true, you're fine.

Srsly though, that's a pretty deep cut, and those are some manly looking stitches. I can't believe you were able to get a picture of the depth without blood ruining the pic.

Best part of a cut like that is the needle they bring out... Whoa!

Speaking of nasty stuff. I was at one of my friends offices yesterday Dr. Osher (namedrop) http://www.cincinnatieye.com/doctors/drosher_bio.php

Who was giving me a disk on his newest childrens book (guess he will have to change that web page) and we went into his editing studio where he produces award winning eye surgery videos. I was talking to his editor about this new piece of equipment they got, and he was showing me how it worked, and the video was so gross but amazing at the same time.

I clicked a pic to share with you...

yes, that is an eyeball, and yes that is a scalple cutting into it at the bottom... The video was even better.

They tremble at my name...

Getting stiches without any kind of analgesic/local anesthetic doesn't hurt, but Tissue Glue burns like hell!

i think i had that stuff once when i was younger...

i've only had stitches once, and i got 4 in the back of my head... I wanted 5 this time to beat my old record, but the doc got away with just 4.  Although, when she was done she offered to put one more in for me to just to have 5 and I declined.

My fiance survived a plane crash.

True she was the PIC when it happened, but still she can honestly say she did.

LOL, I actually have dermabond here at home. Acquired it as part of my medical kit while deployed. Haven't yet had a chance to use it.

What does being an eagle scout have to do with the fact you totally mauled yourself?
