Wikileaks isn't stupid, they're taking the path of least resistance. If he goes into hiding it's easier to fuel the "oh he must have done it" speculations. I'm not saying he's guilty or innocent, not enough info to know yet, but his being arrested clearly isn't an accident.

I think Assange put it best himself, his role at wikileaks is a "lightening rod"

The Raw Story has this up now, that says: 

1) One of the women accusing him of rape was with an organization with ties to the CIA.

2) It is less rape rape he is being accused of, and more Kobe Bryant-like rape. As in, the sex was consensual, but he didn't wear a condom. Or something. Swedish law is kind of confusing.

Though, I can pull up plenty of other sites reporting on the issue. Still trying to find one that gives a good explanation to post as a replacement.

Up till now I considered wikileaks to be a legitimate whistle-blowing organization with an axe to grind with the US.  After this, I consider them to be in league with the terrorists.

"This," for those who don't wish to read the link, being the potential list of targets they posted recently. (Basically, a list compiled by the government of things they really don't want terrorists to go after.)  It's not information that in anyway embarrasses/discredits the government, it doesn't show government wrongdoing, it just gives potential terrorists a nice target list.  Is there stuff on the list that they were probably already considering?  Of course.  However, I can't understand way anyone would want to confirm good targets for them (the terrorists) to hit.
